Vision

The vision of a skill lab in a medical college is to create a modern learning environment where medical students and healthcare professionals can develop clinical competence, confidence, and professionalism through hands-on practice and simulation-based training. The skill lab aims to improve patient safety and quality healthcare by allowing learners to practice procedures, communication, teamwork, and emergency management in a safe and controlled setting before interacting with real patients. It also seeks to promote ethical values, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and excellence in medical education, ultimately preparing skilled, compassionate, and responsible healthcare providers for the community.

Mission

..
  1. Develop Clinical Competence: Train students in essential clinical procedures such as examination, injection, suturing, CPR, airway management, and emergency care.
  2. Ensure Patient Safety: Allow students to practice repeatedly on mannequins and simulators before performing procedures on actual patients, reducing medical errors.
  3. Bridge Theory and Practice: Convert classroom knowledge into practical application through simulation and hands-on exercises.
  4. Promote Confidence and Professionalism: Help learners gain confidence, communication skills, teamwork, leadership qualities, and ethical behaviour in healthcare settings.
  5. Provide Simulation-Based Learning: Recreate hospital scenarios using models, task trainers, and high-fidelity mannequins for realistic medical training.
  6. Support Competency-Based Medical Education: Ensure students achieve the required competencies and certifiable skills needed for graduation and professional practice.
