Eligibility for Appearing in
Professional (University) Examinations

Professional (University) Examinations are held two times a year in May and November. Pre-requisites for appearing in the Professional Examinations:

Eligibility

First Professional MBBS Examination:

A candidate must have -

  • Completed the specified course in the subjects of the examination.
  • Attendance in 75% of the classes held (Lecture, Tutorial & Practical).
  • Obtained 60% mark in all three term examinations.
  • Certificate of good conduct from the heads of the departments.
  • Paid all college dues.
  • Paid university examination fees.

Second Professional MBBS Examination

  • Passed 1st Professional MBBS Examination in all subjects.
  • Completed the specified course in the subjects of the examination.
  • Attendance in 75% of the classes held (Lecture, Tutorial & Practical).
  • Obtained 60% mark in all two term examinations.
  • Certificate of good conduct from the heads of the departments.
  • Paid all college dues.
  • Paid university examination fees. 

Third Professional MBBS Examination

  • Passed 2nd Professional MBBS Examination in all subjects.
  • Completed the specified course in the subjects of the examination.
  • Attendance in 75% of the classes held (Lecture, Tutorial & Practical).
  • Obtained 60% mark in all two term examinations.
  • Certificate of good conduct from the heads of the departments.
  • Paid all college dues.
  • Paid university examination fees.

Final Professional MBBS Examination

  • Passed 3rd Professional MBBS Examinations 12 months before the final professional examination and attended classes during this period.
  • Completed the specified course in the subjects of the examination.
  • Attendance in 75% of the classes held (Lecture, Tutorial & Practical).
  • Obtained 60% mark in all three term examinations.
  • Certificate of good conduct from the heads of the departments.
  • Paid all college dues.
  • Paid university examination fees.

Merit position & honours mark

  • Merit positions are declared only in the cases of regular students.
  • A student must get subject wise 85% of the total marks to avail honours mark.

Internship Training

Students who successfully pass the Final Professional MBBS Examination are required to undergo one year internship training in a BM&DC recognized hospital to be eligible for registration by BM&DC. Popular Medical College Hospital is recognized by BM&DC for such training. Internship is offered to the graduates of Popular Medical College.
